After losing to Connetquot in a dual meet on April 4th and ending our streak of 43 straight wins dating back to 2005, Bay Shore Girls Track have been on a roll.
Bay Shore beat Lindenhurst, Northport, Sachem East and previously unbeaten Sachem North 78-72 in one of the most exciting dual meets ever at Bay Shore. The team that could win two of the three relays would win the meet. Sachem North won the 4 x 100, with Bay Shore winning the 4 x 400 and 4 x 800. The win over Sachem North created a three-way tie for the League 2 Championship, with Bay Shore, Connetquot and Sachem North all ending up with 5-1 records!
Bay Shore won the Lindy Relays, defeating Connetquot and Sachem North in the process.
Bay Shore was the top team at the Suffolk Coaches Meet (although team scores are not kept in this meet).
Won thirty-three medals at the Red Raider Relays and Anisa Toppin was selected the Athlete-of-the-Meet.
Bay Shore won the Smithtown Invitational beating top Long Island schools - Garden City, Connetquot, Sachem North, and Kings Park. Anisa Toppin broke Stephanie Barnes school record in the triple jump - 41'2". This is the 6th best jump ever in NY State, and currently the #2 jump in the United States!!!
Bay Shore won the Middletown Invitational, with top NY State teams Uniondale, Suffern, Kingston and North Rockland competing!!!
Bay Shore won the Sophomore County Championship at Longwood, and was second to West Islip in the Freshman Championship, losing by two points!
Bay Shore was second to Saratoga at the 73rd Eddy Games in Schenectady, NY. This is the oldest meet in NY State. We were using this as a tune-up for the County/Division Championships on May 20th and May 22nd. We kept most of our athletes in only one event. Anisa Toppin won the long and triple jumps and was selected the Outstanding Athlete of the Meet, and will get all her expenses paid to compete in the New Balance Outdoor National Track & Field Championships in Greensboro, NC on June 14-15.
