The Bay Shore High School Music Theory/Multimedia Lab is a state of the art production facility for music composition and audio/video recording and editing. Each of the 23 student workstations is equipped with an Apple iMac, a Korg Control 49 USB Keyboard Controller and a Korg Group Education Controller student interface box. The facility also has a recording/video studio with an iMac and a Alesis mixer. An additional iMac station is located in the studio for recording and mixing on studio monitor speakers. Student/teacher interaction is accomplished using a Korg Group Educational Controller headphone system and Apple Remote Desktop management software. Students use Garageband, Logic Studio, Finalcut Pro X, Finalcut Server, Motion, Compressor and Sibelius music notation software as tools to create original music compositions, video soundtracks, video documentaries and school district public service announcements.
The lab is home for 6 Music Theory classes, a Multimedia class, an International Baccalaureate Music class and The High School Web Team.
