Students with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education (SLIFE)
NYSED has approved a temporary emergency regulatory change that time out of school due to COVID-19 closures does not count toward the 12 months that SLIFE students may be enrolled in US schools prior to initial identification as a SLIFE, pursuant to Part 154-2.2(y), regardless of whether students were engaged in remote schooling during that time.
